What do you watch?

Trainer ride morning - blah...4:15 alarm goes off and by 4:30 I am on the saddle. But sometimes is just has to be done to get the workout in. What do you do to entertain yourself while on the trainer? I typically find a season of something to get on nextflix. Something that I will get excited about and only allow myself to watch while on the bike. (I know, weird - but it keeps me going). Currently my dvd of choice is Weeds..ahhhh. I love that show. You just never know what is going to happen next. But I have also gotten into Dexter as well as True Blood.

What do you watch to get your ass excited about a trainer ride?

Random note - I'm going to have a product review up soon! Yeah good biking shorts!!

I am a trainer freak BUT one word DVR, I need something to keep my mind off the trainer. Time seems to go slower on a trainer then the dreadmill. Also group trainer rides are sorta fun. Also I have tried PS2 on the trainer, seems to work a little, but can go as hard.

Entertain myself? On the trainer? I usually don't, other than the usual entertainment my mind supplies itself with. It's all I can do to stay on top of the computer screen with the plan written out, the stopwatch, and the heart rate monitor. Some days, I'll really go to town and turn the ipod on. Complete with the most recent music, such as Cheap Trick, George Thorogood, Blondie, Pink Floyd, Queen, Roger Waters, and Meat Loaf.

Once I tried watching one of those Real Roads DVD's, once watching some spin session thingie, and once watching a movie. It didn't work out well.

My series of choice is Alias but I usually only use that when I am on the treadmill. I use Spinervals when I am on the bike.

Already been through weeds. Waiting for the latest season to come out on DVD.

For my short rides, old 80's shows. how of choice now is Magnum PI.

Long rides will be a movie. Sometimes I'll watch a bond flick, usually 2 hours or so. Everytime 007 has a Martini shaken not stirred, or gets with a bond girl, I go up two rings and pedal hard for 5 minutes.

Time flies.

I watch DVDs for treadmill runs, but can't bring myself to doing bike trainers. Must go outdoors for the bike. I enjoyed "Weeds" so much I burned through all seasons. I like anything episodic. The series "Rome" worked well. I also want to check out "Dexter."

On the dreadmill I'll just watch TV, but on the trainer I have to use Spinervals DVD otherwise anything past an hour is like watching paint dry!

Gotta love Coach Troy!!

Nice job on the early ride!! That's why you're a tri studette. ;p

I love love love Weeds on the trainer! I also have gone t/r Dexter on the bike. I like the TV series too, they work for me, movies are not good for my attention span. I also like watching DVRd shows. I watch the Ironman shows over and over again, Oprah, Entourage, Big Love. A while back I went through the Navy Seal training DVDs and those were really cool things to watch on the trainer!

4:15? Wow.

When I had a trainer, I always loved watching the Jon Stewart/Colbert block of TV on Comedy Central. Oh how I've missed having access to a trainer this winter :(
