Off Roading

on our tri bikes. Yep. It happened again. The last time I rode with this crew on a Sunday we ended up shimming across a 'partial' bridge with our bikes. This weekend? Dirt/clay off roading. We had a few minor spills where the sand got deep, but thankfully we where only on this road for a mile of our 55 mile ride.

No sure what was going on with my camera on this shot

And we also ran into a pretty nice road closure as we cheered on the tail in of the runners coming in from a local half marathon:

So coach has me doing this 'out of the saddle' riding. Which sucks. Big time. Holy cow can i feel that goodness in my legs. It's no secret that cycling is my weakest of the swim/bike/run craziness. So I guess I'll have to get used to my butt not sitting on the saddle.

A new round of spring breakers came in this weekend. I'm off to the beach to see I can find any abondended beach chairs!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

The out-of-saddle stuff will put a hurtin on ya but it's the quickest way to get your quads and hammies up to speed for cycling. Spinning is good but it's more of a gradual conditioning over a period of time. You'll thank your coach later! lol! Glad you were able to get out and ride as well this weekend!

Sounds like a fun ride and the first picture is really cool. I wanted to ask if you now use a Lomo too but then read your comment...

Have a great week.

You know the "out of the saddle" stuff grows on you. I actually look forward to it, mixing up in saddle riding in one gear with jumping out the saddle to a totally different gear, getting the juice flowing, actually feeling like Lance pumping up the Alps, looking forward to the free ride down the other side..... OK you caught me, it sucks...

I hope you found a beach chair! I would love to be at the beach right now but I guess I will settle for the mountains!

I kinda liked that pic. very weird. I though you guys were riding through a storm drain until you said something.

The bike. Ugh. I'm already stressing out about it.

Oh, sounds like you are putting in some great work on the bike! Nice :-)

I am so jealous you live near a beach and sunshine year-round. Just want to tell you that.

Looks like an interesting ride. Please continue posting what your coach has you doing for your bike training. I need help in this area too.

Fun pics! You have the best tri group meet ups out of anyone.

Thanks for sending up the nice weather! Though I still wish I could be part of that batch of spring breakers who are loving life on the beach
