This morning I had a long ass hot run. What a great way to start your Friday right? But mentally this was a tough run for me. It was just hot and I was ready to get it done. At list I can check it off the list. Anyway - around mile 7 of my 14 miles I came across this:
Just a little bit of motivation to get you going in the middle of a long run. Also, I have not clue what was going on around the beach last night - maybe people celebrating the oil being capped? But it looked like spring break all over again. Beer cans, bottles, bras (yes, bras) where randomly discarded all along beach drive. (Sorry, no pictures)
DONE. Now it's time to hang out in the AC.
Oh the oil being capped. For now. It's wonderful and I actually had a tear in my eye yesterday when I heard. But how long will it stay? And please (for those of you who don't live on the coast) remember that there is still a shit ton of oil in our gulf which is killing our wildlife, polluting our beaches, and making people sick. I have not and will not get in the gulf right now, even thought the water is clear, blue, and beautiful. Ok, I will probably hop in to go pee if I need to but too many people that I know who work on the beach are not feeling too hot. We can't way it's from the oil...but we can't say that it's not.
Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Fun sign to see on your run! Happy Friday Chloe!
Should have kept going... we need pictures of Mdot 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,...... you get the idea.
To be honest - I've been running back there for a few years - 2 and 3 are the only ones that I've seen! :)
That is definitely a run motivator! I am excited about the cap but I am remaining wary of whether it will completely work! I will keep praying because I love the gulf and don't want it, the wildlife and the people to suffer anymore!
Congrats on getting your long run done in the heat! Seeing the Mdot would have given me the motivation to keep going too!
I am hoping that the cap works. I think everyone is hoping that it works. I don't blame you for not wanting to get into the water. I don't think anyone really knows the extent of the damage the oil has caused. Better to be safe than sorry!
That pic woulda motivated the hell outta me,too! WOW...
