Florida is Frozen!

Like the rest of the country...Florida is frozen. And guess what we had on Saturday? I freaking triathlon! Yes, we are hard core triathletes here in Panama City Beach. The local Triathlon store, Freedom Sports, planned a pretty awesome event Called the Frozen Floridan. It was a 400 meter swim, then we hop in our cars and drive to another location for a 10 mile bike, and then drive to another spot for a 4K. I don't know about you, but I have never done a race like that - but it was so much fun. Not to mention that Saturday morning was one of the coldest mornings in PCB history! Awesome planning Freedom Sports! Here are a few photos from the event:

And the best part of the race? Coming home with this:

Yep...instead of metals, they gave out blankets! In fact, I have it wrapped around me right now! Love it! Congrats to everyone that came out and raced that chilly day!!

Random thoughts:
Biggest Loser? Anyone watch it? Holy cow those are some big people! This season should be interesting!

Still looks warmer then the midwest, we have had 6 straight days of snow!!

TBL - I agree, they seem to get bigger every season. I am starting to think they shouldnt be so quick to vote off people. These people who are the first ones still need all the help and support they can get. Maybe wait 30 days before they start voting people off. That way, they have a start for a solid foundation of understanding what they need to do.

Looks almost as cold as Ironman Florida 2006!

I was planning to visit Florida in May. I hope it warms up by then!

Giving out blankets is SUCH an awesome idea! Do you "race" your cars as you're driving to the next location too? Sounds like fun!

What a unique race! Congrats on the finish! Amazing way to start the year. :)

I watched the Biggest Loser last night, it's gonna be good! But where is Shay? I thought she was returning this season? Maybe just for the finale?

Great blanket! That is a very cool idea for a prize! I have to agree with Big Daddy Diesal, I think that they should let everyone stay awhile before voting them off. I don't understnd how that helps any of the contestants.

Nice!!

any colder and it could have been a 400 meter ice skate and then the bike and run.

Different locations would be a triathlon with a progressive dinner touch..
