Cha Cha Cha Changes....

I know I've been behind of reading blogs as well as updating my own for the past few weeks - but a ton of changes going on in Chloe's World. All of them are pretty darn good.

With in 48 hours I was offered a position with a new company (whoohoo!) found a new condo with Jason (alright!). I've been kind of stressed out those things for the past week - so once I was offered the position and signed the lease - ahhhh...relief!

The new position is a great move with in the insurance industry with an excellent company. I will be traveling quite a bit around Florida and dealing face to face with agents. Also, it does not hurt to have a company car... a really cool one that I can throw my bike in. (hello hotel trainer sessions)

But I am looking forward to getting a schedule again and getting my training back on track. So due to this new job - I will not be able to do Clarmont 70.3 next month. Thankfully living in the Sunshine State - there are other races to choose from. But this job also throws in another obstacle with my food. I usually eat every two hours - anything from fruit, almonds, yogurt, etc....

So a question to the readers - anyone have any good tips on eating healthy on the road/hotels? I'm big on making my own 'healthy' bars that travel well - so PLEASE share any good ideas you might have!!

Random thoughts -

There is one good thing about hurricanes! Surf. Jason is heading over to Jacksonville this weekend to take advantage of all the goodness hurricane Bill has to offer!

LeeAnn is getting married this weekend! I can't wait to see all of my Kansas City friends! But my closet is seriously looking like the 28 dresses closet. Anyone needs bridesmaid attire? I have plenty to share!

I'm getting so excited for everyone who is going IMKY a week from Sunday! If you have your number - please share so that I can stalk on my computer!

Also - I'm still trying to decide on a new bike. OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTIONS! For those of you females - can you tell the difference between a regular tri bike and a female specific?

Yay for lots of positive changes in Chloe's World. Congratualtions on the new job and the new condo. Those are both so awesome! I'm excited to hear about the new races you'll be training for.

For the food - I eat every couple of hours also. I would definitly bring a cooler with me so I could have snacks with me all the time. I guess you'll have to eat out for dinner alot though. If it were me, I'd do lots of veggie sandwiches from Publix. man I love those. Really wish I had a Publix here.

I travel alot and eating properly is always a challenge. Luckily for you, if you are driving, you can make your vehicle a virtual grocery store, which might make life easier.
Good luck!

Congratulations on the new job and condo! Both exciting stuff. Plus, a company car never hurts either. As for eating, I agree with Kristen a cooler filled with your favorite snacks will help.

Congrats on all your new news.

When I travel, first thing I do after getting checked in to the hotel is hit the local market and buy fruits and veggies so they are available when I am hungry.

If your a purse gal, load your purse with snacks, so when your hungry, just dip into your snacks and you wont be tempted to go out to eat.

eating healthy - keep a jar of whey protein in your car and mix it w/ water when you don't have time to eat.

Congrats on the big changes!!

And my bike advice is (and always has been) go to some different bike shops and test ride a BUNCH. Things will work, and things won't. I'm not very brand-loyal (and neither is Pharmie), so we just try EVERYTHING!

Good luck!

Congrats on the new job!! I love my Kestrel. But I'd say a bike that fits you well is the best bike you can get - test ride some :)

I got 1000 suggestions as to what bike I should try out, and in the end it all came down to just trying them.

According to my geometry the Orbea bikes were great, but when I got on them they felt terrible. Felt was on paper a terrible fit, but felt pretty good.

Just take the time and try out a bunch, make sure to get on the road, and if its your first tri bike, be ready for it to feel a little weird but you'll get used to it.
