Morning Rides, YOLO, Tie-dye and Smoken Butts

Let's start of with the good decisions I've made the past few days. Thursday morning started of with our normal '30A' ride. It was an amazing sunrise with a great group of people to ride with. My legs where a bit sore from the pickups we ran the night before (7X90 sec with 1 min between) - but we just cruised along and enjoyed the beauitful morning:

Later on that night - we had our monthly YOLO board race. Since I was the ONLY MEMBER of our four member team that could make the race - I called in a few trusty tri-ladies to help out. Even though none of them have even been on a YOLO board before - we still had a GREAT time.

Friday a few friends of mine from Orlando came to visit for the night. I've known Dawn forever and we always have a good time when we get together. Dawn and her boyfriend are an amazing support crew - every race that I've done in or around Orlando they let me shack up at their place as well as come and cheer me on which is awesome. Anyway - they came in town that evening and we started of the night Tie-dying with my sister. I had some baby shower gifts that I needed give some character to as well as spruce up my Zenzah socks:

And here is where it gets ugly. We decided to stop by Publix so we could cook at home. Had an amazing dinner which involved a ton of wine. Headed off to Caliza Pool at Alys Beach (really-check out the link. It's an amazing pool/bar) and then off to Bud And Aly's. Needless to say - this was the only picture taken all night:

I. Felt. Like. Death. the next morning. It was a great time - but now I remember why I don't drink multiple bottles of wine anymore! I'm not freaking 21 anymore :) But thankfully the day was overcast and rainy - so I just laid around the rest of the day and got some quality tv time in.

So riding this morning - Jim pointed out the place that should sponsor us:

Ohh..the sweet tri-wear ideas are endless with that name...hope everyone had a great weekend!!

BIG FISH

Nothing too exciting going on right now on the training front. Just running, biking, and swimming. But instead of running with the guys - Lisa, Karen and I have ran after work this week. It's always great to have 'girl time' even if it is a run with a few speed pickups thrown in the middle. These women are amazing runners and I feel so luck to be able to train with them. Hopefully when I 'grow up' I'll be 1/2 as fast as they are. It always helps to have such great training partners!

Last weekend I did catch a pretty sweet Red Fish when Big J and I went fishing:

This lovely red fish was caught about 5 minutes before the creepy sky in the background opened up and poured. It was awesome pulling it in - as there where tons of other fishing boats cheering me on. But I think they where shocked when we threw it back. Catch and release my friend :)

Another random comment - but has anyone shopped at Sierra Trading Post? If not, check it out. Hello cheap biking jerseys!

...hey coach...

...do you think I could get 30 min or under in my swim for Clarmont?
Coach: "Um. Yes. If you would be MORE CONSISTENT on your swimming!"

So - I've been going to masters swimming more then just..oh..once a week or so. Yesterday was a GREAT practice. Mostly IM work. Whoohoo! Finally! A break from the montontany of freestyle. 4200 yards of kicking and 125 IM repeats. It hurt - but in a very good way.

And I've come to the conclusion that some of the guards at the pool are huge pervs.

And there have been random sightings for the limo...

SPOTTED!

A limo with a bike rack on the back of it. No joke. It's like a 1988 limo with a bike rack chilling on the back - sometimes with a beach cruiser on it. I'm working on at photo - camera in hand whenever I'm driving!

I also have a new race on deck - the Florida Intimidator which is a part of the Florida Challange in Clarmont, Fl. Intimidator - what a great name for a 1/2 IM! Anyway - a few of us are heading that way at the end of September. I have some pretty stiff goals for myself - let the training begin!!

4am Saturday Morning

Back in the day when I lived in Kansas City - the bars stayed open until 3am. We would drink and dance until they kicked us out - then it was off in a cab (ahh..I love cab drivers) to a 24 hour McDonalds for some McGoodness. Oh how times have changed. Big J and I where up at 4am this morning - him for a fishing charter, and me to meet up for a 5:30am ride.

I headed over to Bruce to meet up with Missy, Lisa, Cindy, Wendy, and Al. Our one and old male on this ride. Missy and Lisa are training for IMKY - so the long weekend rides for them are in full force. And for those of you that live in the South - the earlier you start, the better off you are for not dying of heat stroke. We got in an amazing 45 mile ride through the rolling hills of North Walton County. The weather was perfect and the pace was spot on. Myself along with Wendy and Cindy pulled off while the rest of 'team estrogen' + one husband rocked out an 80 miler.

So the rest of my Saturday is going to be dedicated on figuring out Training Peaks :) whoohoo! First thing on the list - figure out how to down load runs off of my Garmin.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Daily Eye Candy

I would like to thank SAM for this amazing eye candy this morning (And tagging me on it in Facebook!)

And a few happy pictures. I've been low on motivation for training lately as well as stressed for many random reasons. But then I see pictures like theses...they make me smile...and remember how good life really is :) Happy Thursday everyone!

PS22 Chorus...

Ever heard of them? Check out their Blog - PS22 Chorus Blog I seriously get chill bumps hearing these kids sing. How lucky are they to have such great songs? I think back in the day we sang songs about Christopher Columbus and the songs from Mary Poppins. Seriously.
